Olin’s Digital Voice Recorder simplifies the home and work environment 03/06/08
Evolving technology is making digital voice recorders even more compact and useful. This is evident with Olin’s Digital Voice Recorder – it is ideal for use at home or in the workplace when composing documents and capturing ideas, thoughts and notes.

Olin’s Digital Voice Recorder comes with Dragon NaturallySpeaking speech recognition software. This software makes transcribing all your recorded information much more efficient as it gives the recorder the capability to convert speech to text. So instead of using the keyboard to produce text you can simply speak in the text and it will then appear as normal text in a Microsoft Word document.

The recorder is slim, compact and easy to carry at just 43 grams. The screen display has EL back lighting and provides a clear indication of recording time and time remaining. The device provides ample recording time with up to 15 hours and also offers 20 hours of playback. Clear stereo recording is achieved through the built-in stereo microphone and it also has a headphone output and an input for an external stereo microphone.

The device also has quick and easy file management and editing functions that include shuffle, intro, divide, split, erase and format. The easy to operate device can be voice activated (VAS) and also includes an FM radio and alarm clock. Recording formats include MP3, WMA and ZVR. Connection and upload of files to a PC is simply done through the USB 2.0 cable whilst the embedded flash memory provides 1GB of memory capacity to meet all your storage requirements.

The Olin Digital Voice Recorder OVR101 can simplify your home and work environment at an RRP of $249.00

Olin Blu-ray Disc Player brings a new dimension to home entertainment 25/05/08
Blu-ray has emerged victorious from the ‘format wars’ with HD-DVD. For consumers waiting on the sidelines, this means the bargain hunt is on. With the 2008 Olympic Games looming and the chance to enhance the home entertainment experience, the Olin Blu-ray Disc Player represents outstanding value for money.

According to Steve Wilson, ABI Research principal analyst for the Consumer Video Technologies Research Service, several factors, including a relatively high price and the fact that many Blu-ray Disc Players are “beta” units, have prevented a stampede of consumers switching to the format.

The slow uptake in this market has been a result of the format war and the price point for these products – they are not cheap. However, this will change with the Olin Blu-ray Disc Player.

According to Michelle Jin, Westwell operations manager “With the triumph of Blu-ray most people will now be turning their attention to price and compatibility of the Blu-ray products. For consumers, they can take full advantage of this format without hurting the hip-pocket. The Olin® Blu-ray Disc Player with a RRP of $499 is bound to make consumers happy. It’s a win for all involved”.

The Olin Blu-ray Disc Player delivers amplified visual quality that will bring your home theatre experience to life. It is not only a stylish addition to any home with its black slim design but also comes with advanced features you would expect from an Olin product.

The Olin Blu-ray is HDMI version 1.3 with deep colour support and special disc features that are enhanced with a BD profile of 1.1 and BD-Java interactive capability.

Images are maximised with a 1080p selectable output resolution and you will also get the full cinema experience with high quality sound technology that is supported by Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS and DTS-HD. The unit also comes with stereo, 7.1 audio channels and coaxial and optical digital audio output features.

Playing your old collection of movies and music will not be a problem either as the Olin® Blu-ray Disc Player is backwards compatible with DVD-video, DVD-R/RW, CD, CD-R/RW and MP3 CD’s. You can also watch and enjoy regular DVD’s in HD with an up-conversion from DVD’s to 1080 using HDMI output. The easy-to-use Olin® Blu-ray Disc Player with its one-touch fully featured remote control makes for an enjoyable experience.

The Olin® Blu-ray Disc Player will upgrade any home entertainment system and offers consumers premium image quality at an affordable price.
